Pillar 1 · The Programmes

Hope: Grow confidence from the inside out.

Building confidence, self-esteem and self-belief. Confidence can begin with noticing what is already there. This guided sequence of weekly themes invites participants to recognise their strengths, make sense of self-doubt and find words for what matters to them.

Weekly themes

A journey through this pillar.

Confidence is not something a young person has to prove. These themes offer a way to notice strengths, make sense of self-doubt and give their own voice room to grow.

  1. Discovering who I am.
  2. Recognising my strengths.
  3. Overcoming self-doubt.
  4. Finding my voice.
  5. Developing positive self-belief.
  6. Becoming confident in who I am.

Care, consent & boundaries

The young person comes first.

These outlines describe intended programme content, not a promise of current availability or a substitute for professional care. Any next step would begin with listening to the young person and considering what is appropriate.

Any delivery would depend on suitability, capacity, consent and appropriate safeguarding arrangements being in place. A programme would be explored with the young person and relevant adults before it begins.

Mentoring does not replace clinical mental-health treatment, emergency support, statutory safeguarding duties or specialist professional services. Confidentiality has limits where a safety or welfare concern needs to be shared appropriately.
