Our mission

Hope. Help. Healing. Together.

We want trusted mentoring to be easier to reach, so a young person can find someone steady to talk with before they feel they must carry everything alone.

Change can begin with being listened to, and with knowing the same trusted person will be there for the next conversation.

Our mission
Our mission is to make trusted mentoring accessible to every young person who needs it, creating safe, supportive relationships that build confidence, strengthen resilience, and remind young people that their past does not determine their future.

Our vision

To see mentoring become a natural and accessible part of every school and youth-serving community across the United Kingdom, so that no young person has to navigate life’s challenges feeling unseen or alone.

This is a long-term ambition. The project is building toward it with care.

The belief behind the work

Hope. Help. Healing. Together.

These four commitments describe the kind of support THE SIMS PROJECT hopes to build: steady, respectful and shaped around each young person.

01

Hope

A young person is more than what is hard right now. We want to help make room for their own ideas, choices and hopes for what comes next.

02

Help

Support should feel human and dependable. Our ambition is to make room for trusted mentoring, with a consistent relationship rather than a one-off conversation.

03

Healing

Being heard can matter, and each young person deserves to move at their own pace. Mentoring is supportive and is not a substitute for clinical treatment.

04

Together

Young people are not meant to navigate every challenge alone. We hope to work alongside parents, carers, schools, mentors and communities, with respect for the role each can play.

What we hold close

A young person should feel our values, not just read them.

Trust, listening, belonging, growth, safety and hope are promises to work toward in how every young person is treated.

01

Trust

Showing up with honesty, keeping our word and treating each young person with respect.

02

Listening

Making room for a young person’s words, silences and point of view, without judgement.

03

Belonging

Helping each young person know they matter, and that they deserve to be understood.

04

Growth

Recognising each step forward, while letting confidence and resilience grow at their own pace.

05

Safety

Putting safeguarding, clear boundaries and young people’s welfare first.

06

Hope

Holding open the possibility of change, even when today feels difficult.

Be part of the mission

A steadier kind of support starts with a conversation.

If you’re a parent, school, youth organisation or potential partner, tell us what young people need where you are. We’d welcome a thoughtful conversation about what might be possible.
