Pillar 2 · The Programmes

Help: A steady relationship, one step at a time.

A structured one-to-one mentoring pathway. Over 12 weeks, a young person and mentor would have a steady space to build trust, talk about what matters, agree goals and reflect together. The relationship is the thread, and the young person helps shape each next step.

A 12-week pathway

A mentoring journey built around the young person.

Trust takes time and should grow at the young person’s pace. This 12-week structured one-to-one pathway brings the components below into a shared journey; they are not a claim that each item is a separate week.

  1. Initial introduction and relationship building.
  2. Understanding the young person’s needs.
  3. Personal strengths and challenges.
  4. Confidence and communication.
  5. School, home and peer relationships.
  6. Personal goal setting.
  7. Progress conversations.
  8. Developing independence.
  9. Celebrating achievements.

Care, consent & boundaries

The young person comes first.

These outlines describe intended programme content, not a promise of current availability or a substitute for professional care. Any next step would begin with listening to the young person and considering what is appropriate.

Any delivery would depend on suitability, capacity, consent and appropriate safeguarding arrangements being in place. A programme would be explored with the young person and relevant adults before it begins.

Mentoring does not replace clinical mental-health treatment, emergency support, statutory safeguarding duties or specialist professional services. Confidentiality has limits where a safety or welfare concern needs to be shared appropriately.
